Thomas of Port Orford, Ore., to John Macy ion of Mr. and Mrs. O. A Macy, Monmouth, recently of Salem, was announced Tuesday evening at dinner at the Chi Omega sorority at Willamette university. ' No date is set for the wed ding. lA little white church ring box was arranged on the table with the ring inside. A green satin ribbon was arranged as a street leading from the church. Six miniature cars were arran ged as if going away from the church, the cars having the names of the six girls in the sorority who have announced their engagements this year. The seventh car was turned as going to the church and on lt was an envelope with the tjrd bearing the names of Miss rhomas and Mr. Macy to reveal life news to the sisters. Miss Thomas is a senior at Willamette this year. Mr. Macy 1 a graduate student at the uni versity. : ... Plan Camp Trips All Camp Fire and Blue Bird families are Invited to visit Camp Kilowan during May and June. Several planning to visit the camp are taking a picnic lunch eon as well as hammers, saws hatchets and other equipment to help in work at the camp, to get it in shape for the opening. Work parties are planned for May 22, June 5, June 12, June 19. Further information may be obtained by calling the Camp Fire Girls office. Lions Auxiliary onsors Dinner Bride-elect Miss Lois Jean Pearson is the bride-elect of Dareld Satern of Silverton. Both are students at Park land Pacific Lutheran college. Sp The West Salem Lions auxil iary held their annual mother and daughter no-host dinner. The tables were beautifully de corated with spring flowers. The oldest and youngest mother, also grandmother and great grandmother were each pre sented a bouquet of flowers. The program included musi cal numbers and a song by Janice Burk. Pictures were shown by Max Gehlar. The regular business meeting was called to order by the pre sident, Mrs. Axel Jacobsen. The officers elected for the coming year are: Mrs. Chester Douglas, president: Mrs. Junior Eckley, vice president: Mrs. Robert Co vert, treasurer; Mrs. Elmer Nofziger, secretary. Delegates named to attend the state convention to be held at Astoria June 5, 6 and 7 are Mrs. Axel Jacobsen, Mrs. Jun ior Eckley, Mrs. Robert Forster, Mrs. C. A. Rust, Mrs. Robert Covert and Mrs. Chester Douglas. Installation of new officers will be June 16 at the West Sa lem City Hall. Mrs. A. J. Crose, third state vice president, is to be the installing officer. The committee for the eve ning included Mrs. C. A. Rust, Mrs. Lawrence Sheridan and Mrs. John Ritchey. ... Smith and Bruce Allan Erickson is being an nounced for Friday, June 10 The ceremony will be solem nized at 8:30 o clock m the eve ning that date in the First Pres byterian church. Miss Smith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl F. Smith of Salem, Mr. Erickson the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Erickson of Milwaukie, Ore. The en gagement of the young couple was announced this past winter at the Alpha Delta Pi sorority at Oregon State college. Miss Shirley Smith is to be maid of honor for her sister at the wedding and Kenneth Erick son is to be best man for his brother. Young Miss Lynda Erickson, sister of Mr. Erick son, will light the tapers. The reception following will be in the church also. Mr. Erickson is now attend ing Oregon State college, plan ning to graduate next year. Miss Smith formerly attended the college. . Party on Birthday The seventh birthday anni versary for Julie Repine, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Repine, was observed this afternoon with a party at the family home. Young friends bidden included Patty Morris, Martha Moore, Mark Wulf, Patricia Whelan, Delbert Loose, Bob Merrit, Christine and Kathleen Drye, Janet Griffin, Joan Buell. As sisting Mrs. Repine were her sister, Mrs. N. D. Buell, her mother-in-law, Mrs. F. O. Re pine, and Mrs. Vernon Drye. ATTENDING the christening of their granddaughter, Lynne TenPas, at the Good Samaritan Episcopal church in Corvallis on last Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Anderson, 390 South Lancaster drive. Rev. Charles Neville was the officiating min ister. The little girl's godparents are Mrs. Val Kimes, Mrs. Adri an Dickson, and Phillip Meeker. Following the ceremony a buf fet luncheon was served at the TenPas home. The paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Henry TenPas of Waldo, Wisconsin. Past Matrons Are Honored Past matrons of all chapters were honored at the regular meeting of Chadwick chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, at the Masonic temple, Tuesday evening. The stations of the var ious officers were assumed by the past matrons during the op ening ceremonies. The presi dent of the club, Mrs. Mem Pearce, taking the station of the associate matron. Mrs. Harry Crawford, the Immediate past president of the club, was hon ored by sitting in the east to rep resent all past matrons who were present. Invitations were read for the grand chapter convening in the city of Portland on June 13, to a reception honoring Mr. Leon Baketel, member of the finance committee of the grand chapter in Portland Masonic temple on May 26, and to be guests of the chapter at Turner on May 23; also, to a .district meeting of Rainbow assemblies to be held in the temple at Salem on Sunday May 22 at 2 p.m., and to the in stallation of the officers of Chadwick assembly. Order of Rainbow for Girls on Tuesday, May 24, at 8 p.m. The worthy matron, Mrs. D. M. Eby, invited all members of the chapter to a party on the evening of Tuesday, May 31, on the fifth floor of the temple. An orchestra will provide music for dancing and other forms of en tertainment will be provided She presented gifts to all pres ent who had birthdays in the month of May. A gift was also given to each past matron by Mrs. Eby. Chadwick chapter Social Day club meeting was announced for the afternoon of Tuesday, May 24. Dessert luncheon will be served at 1:15, followed by cards. All members of the East ern Star are invited. tjnder good of the order the worthy patron, Jason Frizzell, reviewed the proposed amend ments to the constitution which will be considered at the grand chapter and Rex Davis and Mrs. Paul Hauser, past grand patron and matron, respectively, assist ed in the discussion. Mrs. Harry Crawford spoke briefly to the chapter. A male trio and a so lo by Miss Maureen Nichols ac companied by Mrs. Ray Baker completed the program for the evening. Refreshments were served by a committee composed of Mrs. L. M. Ramage, Mrs. J. W. Goe bel, Mrs. L. E. Kleinke. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dorr, William Hall, Harry Swafford and A. E. Utley. The dining room was very at tractive with decorations of red and white. The color scheme was also carried out in the refreshments. Party Friday On Thursday evening. Mrs. Hugh Morrow is to entertain at a dessert supper and bridge party to honor Mrs. John Tay lor. The guests will fete Mrs. Taylor with a shower.
